Lot's of you guys out there like to write in
your spare time. Tons of authors have given advice to budding authors,
including lots of your favourites.
NOTE: Quotes may not be exactly correct, but they are along the line.
JK Rowling says
"Use your own life as a
starting point. Write about what you know about." and
"Keep writing and
throwing it in the bin until find something that you think is good enough
not to throw away."

So, when you put them all together, these are the BestBooks4ever tips for writing:
1.) Write Write Write
2.) Read Read Read
3.) Believe in yourself
4.) Think of a plot before you start writing
5.) Write about something you know about or are interested in
6.) (Optional, from Roald Dahl, also proven to be a good idea in Stephen
King's books, not approved of by some horror authors.) Combine horror with
comedy always.
7.) Don't do the same thing over and over again
8.) Only make it a series if there's more of a story to tell
9.) Get an agent
10.) Go with the editors - they know best, they are
professionals.
11.) Get the size of your story right but only after you get the content right. The content is much more important.
12.) Make your characters realistic and make them act like you would - this doesn't mean the plot itself has to
be realistic, just the characters and story-telling. (Not saying that they can't be mythical creatures, just they act realistically to certain situations.)
You can send your stories in to us if you like and we can put them on the site! We even will have forums soon for you to chat to other budding authors.
